Formula

Ptotal = Σ(n × Punit) · Itotal = Ptotal / 24 · Ptarget = Ptotal × (1 + reserve ratio)

Substitution

Ptarget = 17.76 × (1 + 25%) = 22.2 W

Calculation Steps

  1. Convert each load entered in A to W at 24 V, multiply by quantity and sum.
  2. Add 25% design reserve to total power and round up to an example rating.

Result Explanation

A default 25% reserve is used for preliminary sizing. Verify simultaneous solenoid pickup, capacitive-load startup and high-temperature derating separately.

What should be checked for solenoid or capacitive loads?

Check coincident pull-in or startup peaks, supply peak capacity and temperature derating.
